Handmade, small batch, unique polymer clay and resin Jewellery to make an elegant statement!

Hello! My name is Marina and I am a mum of two based in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Jewellery designing and making is my happy space.

I studied 3D design at Grays school of art in Aberdeen focusing on ceramic and dabbling in jewellery. I honestly didn't enjoy either subject for a while until I combined them, and here we are today!

After the birth of my second child in the first week of lockdown.. Followed a very difficult time for me (as with many people). Losing two family members, and a sprinkle of pnd for good measure, I lost myself for a while.

Then one day I found a spare moment to myself and got my hands on some left over polymer clay from my kids craft drawer.. and voila! It all started rolling from there. I suddenly found my 'thing' and today, there is nothing I crave more than a hot cup of tea, an audiobook and getting stuck in to making pretty jewellery.. oh and some peace and quiet!

I like to think that my style has an elegant, eye catching, expensive touch to it and an ageless look meaning my niece to my granny could easily rock a pair of statement earrings and not look out of place.

Alot of my influences come from my background. Having grown up in Greece and living by the sea, I gravitate towards blue/green hues and the sea. I am also half Scottish, and having lived here for the second half of my life, I spend a lot of time in nature and am inspired by the harsh Scottish landscapes and my garden.

Finally, I would like to mention both my late grandfathers who both had a small but important role in the creation of Marina Designs.

My Scottish grandfather inspired me by creating his own resin paper weights in which he preserved different details of his life! I was fascinated as a child!

My Greek grandfather who always told me, he imagined me as a jewellery maker having my own little shop on a Greek island. I always thought that was odd, as at the time I was definitely going to be a vet and save all the animals in the world!!! But here we are !

And I can only dream of that little shop on a small Greek island one day...
